This course is designed to give students the knowledge and skills required to carry out routine maintenance and repair activities on Electric/Hybrid vehicles. It is designed for vehicle technicians / car mechanics to broaden their skills and experience.
Course Details
How to work safely on hybrid and related vehicle systems The correct methods for shutting down and isolating high voltage systems The layout and construction of hybrid and electric drive powertrain systems, and the identification of key components The principles of high voltage battery construction, management and monitoring systems

Entry Guidelines

To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1  Functional Skills in English and Maths)
                                     OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)

Satisfactory interview and/or assessment

Equipment Required
Hybrid car, Hybrid trainng units.
Assessment Method
The majority of the tasks within the assessments will be assessed via observation and questioning. Units contain short student worksheets for students to complete independently. All students registered on these qualifications must successfully complete the on-line test
