Welcome to Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric / Hybrid Vehicles and Components at Wirral Met.

This course, developed and designed by industry leaders, will equip you with the skills and knowledge to carry out repairs on live high voltage vehicle electrical components and systems safely.

Course Details

Developed by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), this course will cover a wide range of practices and disciplines to ensure that you can provide safe, and effective repairs on live high voltage vehicle electrical components and systems. Topics covered include:

  • Health and safety
  • Diagnostics
  • Testing and repair procedures
  • Components and systems 
  • Battery design and management 
  • Managing risks
Entry Guidelines

This is an adult course, designed for those aged 19+

Applicants must have a relevant Level 3 qualification.

It is recommended that individuals also have a minimum of 6 months experience working within the automotive industry.

Equipment Required

You will be required to wear personal protective equipment i.e steel toe capped boots.
This will incur an additional cost.
