Childcare & Early Years Education

Pursue a career dedicated to the care and development of children with our range of childcare and early years study programmes. You will be taught through practical workshops, classroom activities and leading industry speakers to develop the skills employers are looking for. You will be given support and guidance throughout your learning journey to help you progress from introductory to professional level.

WHAT NEXT

Many students progress into jobs or an apprenticeship after completing their Level 1 or 2 study programmes. Students completing their level 3 award often progress to Higher Education and you can study towards the Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) Advanced Practice in Work with Children & Families programme at Wirral Met College.

Nursery nurses can earn £13,000 when they start their career, and then they can progress to up to £18,000 as they become more experienced and take on additional responsibilities. Nursery Managers can earn around £22,000 - £30,000 per year.
