Welcome to Level 3 Award in Refrigerant Handling at Wirral Met.
This course has been designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to work with refrigerants in the automotive industry.
Taught in our purpose-built automotive workshops at our Twelve Quays campus, you will develop a wide range of skills to help you safely, and effectively, work with refrigerants. Topics covered include:
- Identifying refrigerants
- Storing, recycling and disposing of refrigerants
- Understanding hazards
- Safe practice
- System operation
- Components
To study a Level 3 qualification, you will need:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 4-9 including English and/or Maths (or L2 Functional Skills in English and/or Maths)
OR
A relevant Level 2 qualification and English or Maths at Grade 4 or above (or L2 Functional Skills in English and/or Maths)
Satisfactory interview and/or assessment

You will be required to wear personal protective equipment i.e steel toe capped boots.This will incur an additional cost.
