The Level 2 qualification in Team Leading is structured to support three different sized qualifications to support student aspirations and career requirements:
- Diploma one full academic year to complete seven modules.
- Certificate 16 weeks to complete four modules.
- Award 6 weeks to complete one module.
There are several enrolment dates throughout the academic year, which the lecturers will discuss at interview. The qualification will be delivered as a hybrid model, meaning that students will attend a mixture of online and in-person sessions at regular intervals.
Students are expected to complete weekly set activities and assessment work independently, however they will be allocated a tutor to provide support throughout the duration of the course.
Students will develop a range of skills, including effective team leading, improving problem solving skills, effective decision making and a wider understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a team leader. Areas covered by the qualification include:
- Being a team leader
- Providing customer service
- Monitoring team performance
- Building work relationships
- Developing team needs
To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)
OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)
Satisfactory interview and/or assessment

Students have the opportunity to study further modules to allow them to complete the full diploma. Students will progress onto job roles such as:
- Team Leader
- Supervisor
- Floor Leader
- Team Coordinator
- Helpdesk Manager
- Trainee Supervisor
After completion of this qualification, you can also continue your learning and progress on to the following qualifications:
- Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
- CMI Level 3 Qualifications in Principles of Management and Leadership
- CMI Level 3 Qualifications in Coaching and Mentoring
