If you are 19+ and you are looking to train as a qualified electrician installing in Commercial, Industrial and domestic locations, the City & Guilds 2365 course could be for you.

This qualification alone does not make candidates fully qualified electricians but allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Electrical Installation sector.

Course Details
You will study the following units:
  • Health and Safety in Building Services Engineering
  • Understand the fundamental principles and requirements of environmental technology systems
  • Principles of Electrical Science
  • Electrical Installations Fault diagnosis and Rectification
  • Electrical Installations: Inspection, Testing and Commissioning
  • Electrical Systems Design
  • Career awareness in building services engineering
Please note at the end of the course you will hold the status of an Electrician's Mate.
Entry Guidelines


To study a Level 2 qualification, you will need:

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3, including English and Maths (or L1  Functional Skills in English and Maths)
                                     OR
A relevant Level 1 qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grade 3 or above (or L1 Functional Skills in English and Maths)

Satisfactory interview and/or assessment

Equipment Required
Students will be required to provide their own safety boots and drawing equipment.
Assessment Method
Assessment will be completed by practical and online tests.
Additional Information
The course requires manual dexterity and physical stamina. You will need to lift and handle tools and materials.

Level 3 Electrical Installation or Level 2/3 NVQ (if you gain an apprenticeship or employment).
