This is a level 1 programme that will prepare you for re-engagement into education. It will develop basic practical skills in preparation for progression onto a Diploma course which is recognised within the industry.
Course Details
You will participate in practical activities that develop specialist techniques specific to brickwork. This will be underpinned with some basic theory that will outline the application of safe practices within the construction industry whilst developing an understanding of the materials and equipment used in brickwork and across other trades. There may be opportunities to engage in work experience offering an insight into the construction industry and across other trades and their contribution when working on a construction project.

Entry Guidelines

You do not need to have any formal qualifications in brickwork.

You will need to show that you have an interest in the area.

You will need to be at Entry 3 or above in English and maths (GCSE grade 2 or above).

Satisfactory interview, assessment (including manual dexterity) and a satisfactory reference.

Office use only. Non Standard 21.9.
Equipment Required
Protective footwear.
Assessment Method
Observation of practical tasks and basic written knowledge tests.
Additional Information

PPE must be worn at all times in College and all students must arrive at sessions on time, prepared and ready to learn with pens, paper etc.
