On Wednesday 13 December, students from Wirral Met’s music department took part in a showcase at local gig venue, Future Yard.

Five artists featured at the showcase, which welcomed students, staff, and the local community for an evening of live music.

Each act performed a 30-minute set, comprised of original releases and covers.

Isaac Cleary kicked off proceedings with an acoustic set, with guitar and bass duo Wind Soles following after. The musical trio of Cupids Chorus then took to the stage, followed by a solo performance by Alisha Peters. The evening concluded with rock band Supernova.

The evening was made possible thanks to Wirral Met’s partnership with Future Yard.

Wirral Met’s unique strategic partnership with Future Yard creates meaningful pathways to employment and offers opportunities beyond study for young people and adult learners.

Students will receive special discounts and offers at Future Yard, as well as free access to select live shows. Future Yard also opens itself up to budding musicians, offering spaces to Wirral Met students including rehearsal areas.

Additionally, Future Yard’s Sound Check training programme will offer young people the opportunity to build up the skills and experience they need to work in this exciting industry, combining training workshops with hands-on experience at live events.
