Last week Wirral Met Level 3 Makeup and Hair students attended Liverpool Fashion Week held at Cains Brewery Village. The annual event champions diversity, equality and innovation and students were honoured to be invited to assist with hair and make-up for the runway models.

This year, it wasn't just the breath-taking clothing designs from designers around the world that stole the spotlight but also the artistry of Wirral Met students who transformed models into walking works of art.

One of the key features that sets Liverpool Fashion Week apart is its emphasis on diversity. Students totally embraced this, showcasing their adaptability by working with models of all genders, ages, and backgrounds. This commitment to inclusivity is what makes this event a true reflection of the modern fashion industry. Models were seen sporting a variety of innovative hairstyles and make up looks, showcasing the student’s talent. With their bold eyes, gold metallic, gold leaf accents, and creative curls, they added a touch of opulence and elegance to the event.

This annual event isn't just about aesthetics; it's about professionalism and artistic creativity. Wirral Met students demonstrated unwavering dedication to their craft and showed that it takes more than just skill to make it in the fashion industry. It takes the ability to adapt to changing trends, create artistry on a moving canvas, and craft intricate and imaginative hairstyles.

Amanda Moss, show producer and founder of Liverpool Fashion Week said “It’s my second year working with Wirral Met College and its been an absolute pleasure! The students are so talented, efficient, well mannered, and creative. I couldn’t do it without their input. The students have all got an amazing future ahead of them and I look forward to working with them again.”

Michelle Finnigan, Lecturer in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy at Wirral Met expressed her gratitude to the organisers of the show “We would like to say a special thank you to Amanda Moss for giving the students the opportunity to be part of this event for the second year running.”
