Higher education students took part in a guest lecture from The University of Liverpool last Friday.

Dr Kirsty Morrin, a sociologist from The University of Liverpool, visited our BA (Hons) Sociology with Criminology students, and conducted a lecture on education policy and inequalities.

Dr Morrin’s expertise spans areas of global and public social policy, international educations, youth and youth activisms, critical social theory, and qualitative methodologies.

Her work explores classed, raced, and gendered inequalities in social (im)mobilities, 'privatised' state educations, entrepreneurship and education, and emerging digital platforms.

Dr Kirsty Morrin said “It was great to come over to talk to such an engaged student group about educational and class inequalities. I learned as much from the students as they did from me.”

Our BA (Hons) Sociology with Criminology course, validated by the University of Chester, is one of many degree level courses taught at our new University Centre at Hamilton Square, which offers a mixture of full and part-time programmes that are designed with your future employability in mind.

Wirral Met is proud to offer a wide range of higher education courses, taught in partnership with our associated universities; University of Chester, University of Liverpool, and University of Central Lancashire, commonly known as UCLan.
