We are excited to announce our new Students’ Union representatives for the next academic year. The role of Students' Union President has been awarded to Ryan Evans who is currently studying Preparation for Work and the role of Student Governor has been awarded to Travel and Tourism student Amelia Jones.

The Students’ Union is a student run group that is dedicated to providing a voice and opportunities for all students at Wirral Met. It is run by an elected Executive Committee of non-portfolio officers and a Students’ Union President who meet regularly throughout the academic year along with meeting the Principal and Chair of Governors each term.

The Students’ Union arranges a number of events during the year and play a leading role in fundraising for the college charity which was recently announced as local charity, Autism Together.

The Students' Union President and Student Governor attend meetings of the College Board of Governors to reflect the views of students at the college's highest decision making level. In their roles, Ryan and Amelia will share students' opinions and views about their college experiences and play a key part in the decisions on projects, initiatives and strategies, before they are put in place.

Ryan

Upon being elected as Students' Union President, Ryan said “Being in my third year at Wirral Met I have a really good understanding of what it’s like to be a student at the College. I want to help students have their voices heard and help them have the best time possible whilst studying here.”

“I’m excited to get involved with fundraising for Autism Together as I’m really passionate about raising money for charity and making a positive difference in the world”

Amelia

Amelia is in her second year at the College and is currently studying Level 3 Travel and Tourism.

On her appointment as Student Governor, Amelia said: "I’m excited to put the voice forward of my fellow students and create exciting opportunities for us all to get involved in. I’m particularly passionate about sport and I would like to provide more opportunities for students to keep active and try out new activities through the Students’ Union.”
