Wirral Met College is proud to hear that at the Wirral University Teaching Hospital’s annual staff awards this year, Paige successfully achieved an award for ‘Trainee/Apprentice of the Year’, a great addition for her CV when moving into full time employment upon qualifying from her university course.

Paige enrolled at Wirral Met College on a level 2 Care apprenticeship in 2018, working as an Adult Care Worker at Arrowe Park Hospital.

Having previously studied her GCSEs at Weatherhead High School, Paige says “without the experience and qualifications that I have gained,” [at Wirral Met College] “I wouldn’t have be able to expand to go on to an Access to Nursing course”.

Paige completed her diploma and apprenticeship earlier this year, qualifying with a Merit. Paige’s assessor said “I particularly enjoyed hearing about you working with your patients to ensure you meet their needs and wishes”.

Having just progressed onto an Access to Nursing course at Wirral Met College, Paige hopes to gain further knowledge and a qualification to help her succeed in applying to a university course in 2020.
